Nagaland: SAPO undertakes census awareness tour in Pughoboto sub-division

DIMAPUR

The Sümi Aphuyemi Public Organization (SAPO), apex tribal body of Pughoboto Sub-Division, conducted an intensive tour from February 4 to 6, to sensitize and mobilize the public on the critical importance of the forthcoming Census.
A press release by SAPO stated that during the tour, SAPO held consultations with Village Councils (VCs) and VDBs, stressing that the Census is not a routine formality but a decisive exercise determining future development, allocation of schemes, infrastructure, and political representation. Any negligence or underreporting, it cautioned, would weaken the collective position of the area.
SAPO emphasized that families living in parental homes must ensure proper registration, and urged citizens residing in towns and cities to register in their respective villages to safeguard land, identity, and rights. The Organization assured support for families genuinely in need of assistance to construct houses in the village so that no household is left behind.
Calling upon all Village Councils, VDBs, and citizens to treat the Census with utmost seriousness and responsibility, SAPO reiterated that it is a collective duty, and unity, accuracy, and participation are non-negotiable for the strength and future of the people.
