Nagaland Sariwar Band premieres debut single ‘Sariwar’

The Sariwar Band premiered their debut eponymous single music video, titled “Sariwar”, on November 1, during a special event held at Aroma Café, with Exe. Er. Chubatoshi gracing the occasion as the special guest.
Frontman Asung Imchen shared that the band’s music is rooted in folk fusion, blending the richness of traditional Naga elements with contemporary soundscapes. He explained that the name “Sariwar” literally means “going to war,” symbolizing courage, unity, and the indomitable human spirit.
Speaking about the debut single, Imchen described it as a victory song — a creative fusion of traditional rhythms and modern instrumentation. While the storyline is fictional, the song stands as a tribute to the warrior forefathers, celebrating their valor and legacy through music. The ‘Sarwar band’ consist vocal, Asung Imchen, guitar, Jonathan Lemtur and Temjen Lemtur, bass, Wapang Jamir and Avizo Solo – Drum, with the Band Manager Senti Walling.
