Nagaland SAVC prohibits use of unauthorized names

DIMAPUR

Signal Angami Village Council (SAVC) has issued a public clarification prohibiting the use of terms such as “Colony,” “Ward,” or “Block” within its jurisdiction, reaffirming that only the designation “Sector” is officially recognized.
In a press release, SAVC chairman Keniechosül Sophie and head GB Eyongol Natso stated that the village is officially segmented into three sectors—Sector ‘A’, Sector ‘B’, and Sector ‘C’—as authorized by the council. Any attempt to rename or introduce alternative nomenclature outside this framework will be considered null and void.
The council further clarified that there is no colony named “Phom Colony” within the jurisdiction of Signal Angami Village. In light of this, SAVC urged the general public to refrain from using any name other than “Signal Angami Village.”
It also cautioned that any individual, union, or organization found creating confusion by using unauthorized names will be held responsible, and the council shall take appropriate action as deemed necessary.
