The Shamator District Football Association (SDFA) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of P. Mongchua Khiamniungan, father of MLA, Bencei M. Lamthiu, who passed away on January 26, 2026.
In a condolence message issued by the SDFA president, L. Shahoto Naga and General Secretary, Achimla Yimchunger described P. Mongchua Khiamniungan as more than a former MLA and President of the Khiamniungan Tribal Council, but was a pillar of strength, a visionary leader, and a guiding light for the community.
His legacy of integrity and tireless dedication to public welfare leaves behind a void that will be difficult to fill. Shamator District Football Association extended its deepest sympathies to Nagaland Football Association (NFA), General Secretary, Bencei M. Lamthiu, and to the entire bereaved family and prayed that the almighty grants them fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and for eternal peace for the departed soul.
