Nagaland Sethrichem felicitated for promoting responsible tourism

DIMAPUR, NOV 9 (NPN)

In a proud moment for Nagaland and India’s responsible tourism sector, Sethrichem Sangtam, founder of Better Life Foundation (BLF), was felicitated at the “Incredible India – Travellers’ Paradise” event hosted by the High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, Vikram Doraiswami, at India House, London, on November 6.
The event, held on the sidelines of the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025, celebrated India’s diverse tourism landscape and honoured Indian tourism leaders and innovators.
Sangtam was specially recognised for his pioneering work in community-based responsible tourism and sustainable development in remote eastern Nagaland.
Earlier, on November 3, BLF was conferred the ICRT Global Silver Award under the category “Peace, Understanding and Inclusivity”, following its gold win in the regional round. The award was presented to Sangtam by Debbie Hindle, Chair of ICRT Global, at a distinguished ceremony also held at India House.
Sangtam’s recognition marks a significant milestone for grassroots tourism initiatives in India and highlights the global relevance of community-led travel models that empower local communities while preserving cultural and natural heritage.
