Reacting to the purported sale and consumption of alcohol in Sümi Ki (Sümi Morung) at the ongoing Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, the Sümi Hoho has clarified that no intoxicating substances, including alcohol, had been sold within the premises of Sümi Morung.

Sümi Hoho through its media cell stated that the Kohima Sümi Hoho (KSH) has been entrusted with the management of the Sümi Morung at Kisama.

SH expressed gratitude to KSH for its dedicated and efficient management (mostly supervised by the upright church members) over the years.

As part of this stewardship, SH said the Sümi Morung has upheld a consistent practice for the past 25 years, adding that no intoxicating substances, including alcohol, have been sold within its premises. Sümi Hoho assured all the stakeholders that the long-standing tradition of maintaining an alcohol free Sümi Morung would continue without compromise.
