St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School observes 33th Annual Day

St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School (SMHSS) celebrated its 33th annual day at Latika School auditorium, Dimapur on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang expressed gratitude to the administrators and founders of the school for their dedication in nurturing future leaders. Highlighting the importance of education, he reminded students that their future depends on their hard work and commitment to their studies, reminding them that there were no shortcuts in education.


Further, he advised the parents to invest in their children’s education, noting that societal values have shifted from material wealth to the achievements and aspirations of the younger generation.


Chang encouraged students to maintain a positive attitude, set goals, and seek guidance from their faith, reminding them that the fear of God was the beginning of wisdom. He concluded by offering the district administration’s support.


In his welcome speech, administrator Pratik Dutta, said that the school had partnered with two companies: Lead Group, a book company that transforms classrooms into smart classes for students from nursery to class 2, and LXL Ideas, which provides an alternative to moral science by showing 12 films per class focused on moral and standard-based themes for classes 3 to 10.

He emphasized that the school was powered by the solar panels and has installed and assured that the school would continue adopt new technologies for the better future of its students.


Earlier, the program was chaired by Meribeni and Apokla, felicitation of chief guest and other dignitaries by principal. Other highlights of the programme included various enthralling performance from all sections of students.
