Nagaland: Social Welfare office building inaugurated at Mon

DIMAPUR

Advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak, graced the inauguration of the office building of the District Programme Officer (ICDS) and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) as special guest on January 14, 2026, at the Social Welfare Office Complex, Mon.
In his address, Wangpang said Mon staff were fortunate to have their own office building unlike other districts. He encouraged officials and staff to discharge their duties with sincerity and to make optimum use of government-provided gadgets to enhance efficiency. He also congratulated Executive Engineer, Social Welfare, Er. Talisunup Jamir, and his team for completing the construction within the stipulated period of 18 months.
Secretary, Social Welfare, Limawabang Jamir, in a short speech, congratulated Mon district Social Welfare staff for being among the best performing districts in the State.
He commended the hard work of Anganwadi workers and helpers, and urged citizens to enroll for Aadhaar to avail government schemes, most of which require Aadhaar as ID proof.
Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, termed the occasion a proud moment for the district and thanked the government led by the Chief Minister. He encouraged officials and staff to continue their good work and assured full cooperation from the district administration for the welfare of the people.
Presenting the technical report, Executive Engineer, Er. Talisunup Jamir, highlighted that the total project cost for the construction of the Social Welfare Complex—including the DPO and CDPO office building, retaining wall, security wall and CC compound pavement—was Rs. 2,98,96,000.
The programme was chaired by Director, Social Welfare, Tosheli Zhimomi. Rev. Yeangphong Konyak, District Chaplain, pronounced the dedicatory prayer. Welcome address was delivered by DWO Mon, Atong Yanlem, while a special number was presented by Anganwadi Workers, Mon Project. Vote of thanks was proposed by H. Laitak Konyak, CDPO Mon.
