Nagaland: Spear Corps celebrates 41st Raising Day

DIMAPUR

Spear Corps of the Indian Army celebrated its 41st Raising Day on Wednesday at Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur, with solemnity and pride, marking over four decades of distinguished service, valour and commitment to the nation and people of the Northeast.
According to PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, the celebrations began with a wreath-laying ceremony in honour of soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Army personnel along with civil dignitaries paid homage to the fallen heroes whose courage and devotion continue to inspire generations.
As part of the observance, a series of community-oriented activities were organised, including a medical camp for families, screening for children, an organ donation pledge programme and a blood donation camp at the Military Hospital, Dimapur.
Raised on February 4, 1985, HQ Spear Corps has been entrusted with security responsibilities across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, including guarding the international borders with China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Addressing the jawans, Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, lauded all ranks for their professionalism, operational excellence and steadfast commitment to duty. He highlighted the Corps’ vital role in safeguarding national security, maintaining peace and stability in the region, and extending support to civil authorities during times of need.
The GOC urged all ranks to uphold the highest traditions of the Indian Army and continue to serve the nation with honour, integrity and selfless devotion.
