Nagaland SSP holds inter-house English literary competition

DIMAPUR

Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) organised annual inter-house English literary competition for the academic year 2025–26 on November 8, featuring cadets from various houses who showcased their talents across three categories—Poetry Recitation, Declamation, and Debate.
In the Poetry Recitation category for class 6 cadets from two holding houses, Cdt Vilhousietuo Kense and Cdt Rao Rhakho, both from Dzukou House, secured the first and second positions respectively.
The Declamation category, held for junior houses (classes 7 to 9), saw Cdt Pinseng Phunglo of Shilloi House clinch the top spot, followed by Cdt Joshua Benn Kichu of Pauna House.
In the Debate category for senior houses (classes 10 to 12), Cdt Jaswant Rao of Doyang House and Cdt Cidibe Peter Mbung were adjudged best debaters for speaking in favour of the motion “AI is a boon to Human Society,” while Cdt Angela Rimi Pura of Japfu House secured second position for opposing the motion.
Shilloi House and Saramati House emerged overall winners in the junior and senior categories respectively, lifting the inter-house literary trophies.
Principal Col (Dr) Smita Misra congratulated the winners and distributed certificates, medals, and trophies.
