Nagaland: St. John College hosts five-day theatre performance workshop

St. John College, Dimapur, organised a five-day workshop on theatre performance from February 2 to 6 as part of its preparations for an upcoming theatrical musical scheduled for March 2026.
The workshop was led by Bendang Walling, a renowned filmmaker, actor and director, and co-founder of Hill Theatre, Nagaland. The sessions were designed to equip the cast and crew with professional training and practical exposure to enhance their stage performances.
The workshop primarily focused on method acting techniques, encouraging participants to explore the psychological and emotional depths of their characters. Emphasis was laid on emotional immersion and learning to “live” the roles in order to deliver raw and authentic performances. Through the exploration of various personas, participants gained a deeper understanding of stagecraft and performance dynamics. In addition to acting skills, the training also helped participants develop essential abilities such as collaborative teamwork and creative discipline.
