Nagaland State AIDS Control Society conducts trainings for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives & Community Health Officers

A training on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and syphilis screening was conducted for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) and Community Health Officers (CHOs) of Wokha, Mon and Zunheboto districts.
In a press release, Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) informed that the training was conducted by NSACS, Basic Service Division with technical support from Share India.
The release informed that the training was conducted in Wokha district on February 16, Mon district on February 28 to March 1 and in Zunheboto district on March 17.
Resource persons were deputy director NSACS, Dr. M. Nukshisangla Jamir, project officer, Share India, Dr. Puleno Kennao and consultant Share India and Lab Technicians, Vikehiel Thapo.
During the training, the nurses were imparted on the importance of early testing, linkage and treatment through Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) services and Community based Screening (CBS). Slides on national viral hepatitis control program were also shared during the training. Hands on training on whole blood finger prick test on HIV and syphillis testing was also demonstrated to the trainees.
