Nagaland state BJP adopts various resolutions

Nagaland BJP in its 5th state executive meeting on April 28 at Kohima, adopted several resolutions, taking a stand on various issues, with the agenda of portraying the party’s “secular credentials” featuring on top of the resolutions.
In a press note, general secretary (Media) and spokesperson, BJP Nagaland, Jaangsillung Gonmei, informed that the party adopted five resolutions in the meeting.
According to the press note, the first resolution was that “BJP being a secular political party with agenda for development of the nation with special focus on North East, the BJP Nagaland urges to continue support to the secular credentials and programmes of the BJP under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
The party also resolved to continue supporting the peace process and the Central Government to expedite the process for early solution of Naga Political Issue.
Safeguarding the Christian faith was another resolution of the State BJP.
It also resolved to focus and propagate the party development policies and programmes for the State, especially rural areas.
The party workers also unanimously resolved to achieve the party’s goal in the coming State General Election 2018, it stated.
During the meeting, State BJP president Visasolie Lhoungu in his presidential speech highlighted the party’s activities and performance, pointing out the areas requiring focus.
He advised the party workers to shun critics and detractors and work harder for the party and people’s welfare, saying it was only by works that “we” can prove ourselves.
Newly appointed secretary (Organisation), Ananta Narayan Mishra of State BJP, who also attended the meeting for the first time, also spoke on the occasion, setting the organizational targets of the party and the programs that shall follow soon. He is scheduled to visit all districts during District Executive Meetings.
Advisor to the Government of Nagaland, Imtilemba Sangtam, also addressed the meeting.
Party members in their speeches expressed concern over the party’s secular credentials being doubted by speakers in religious platforms.
The party has therefore “appealed the sanctity of Churches and believers not to doubt the secular credentials nor be a part of the political propaganda, but realize the reality of acute underdevelopment facing the state and be appreciative and part of the genuine efforts of the party and government to bring development to all”.
Hichule Tep, secretary, BJYM Kohima, presented a Christian soul number on the occasion. Earlier, the meeting was chaired by vice president Vizopal Chaya and commenced with invocation by Rev. Kiyeto G. Sema, Pastor SABCK. The meeting was attended by all the State executive members, permanent and special invitees.
