BJP Nagaland president Benjamin Yepthomi has expressed gratitude to the Centre and the state government for what he described as a landmark achievement in signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on the formation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA).
In a statement, Benjamin Yepthomi thanked the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Nagaland government led by chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, deputy chief ministers Y. Patton and T.R. Zeliang, and Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union convenor Paiwang Konyak.
He also acknowledged the role of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO), Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF), and other stakeholders for pursuing dialogue in a spirit of cooperation to bring the talks to a meaningful conclusion.
Yepthomi said the collective efforts had fulfilled the long-cherished aspirations of the Eastern Naga people. He described the MoA on FNTA as a historic milestone that would pave the way for inclusive development, sustained progress and empowerment of the people of Eastern Nagaland.
