As per the direction of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLA) has informed the approved schedule for conducting the “National Lok Adalats” for 2024.
In a press release, NSLSA has informed that the following schedule has been approved for conducting the “National Lok Adalats” in the year 2024 – March 9, May 11, September 14 and December 14 as first, second, third and fourth “National Lok Adalat” respectively.
As per provisions of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 read with NALSA (Lok Adalats) Regulations, 2009 in the courts and tribunals, NSLSA said it has been the practice to conduct 4 National Lok Adalats in a year in all District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) and High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC) under the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA).
National Legal Services Authority informed that the cases would be referred as per the provisions, and necessary directions would be issued to all concerned to conduct pre-Lok Adalat or pre-conciliation sittings before the scheduled date of “National Lok Adalat”, so that the opportunities for negotiations may be offered to the parties to arrive at a compromise or settlement.
