DIMAPUR

The State Level Science Exhibition 2026 under the theme “STEM for Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat” was held on February 6 at TM Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
The theme, part of the national initiative featured in the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, promotes scientific temper, innovation and self-reliance among students.
Gracing the inaugural programme, Mhathung Tungoe, secretary, Department of School Education, said the objective of the exhibition was to encourage students to think beyond the classroom and apply theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world problems. Tungoe added that these platforms cultivate curiosity, critical thinking and scientific temper in students, while also bridging the gap between classroom lessons and real-world applications.
He expressed hope that the exhibition would serve as a stepping stone for future scientists, fostering a lifelong passion for invention, discovery and innovation.
