Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission organises Financial Inclusion drive in various districts

Commemorating “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), Chetheba block conducted Financial Inclusion (FI) mela at Chetheba town hall on Wednesday.
In a press release, area coordinator (Skills), Shehulu Vadeo informed that during the programmr, block program manager BMMU Chetheba, Senovielhou Koza highlighted the achievements of the Self Help Groups (SHGs) under BMMU Chetheba till date.
BDO cum BMM Chetheba, Er. Lines Rhi encouraged SHG members to avail various benefits and opportunities provided by NSRLM while EAC, Chetheba, Er. Omegali encouraged SHG members to enrol themselves in the financial institutions which will assist them to avail various government schemes and opportunities offered. Assistant Manager, SBI Chozuba Mr. Kuzoto Medeo highlighted credit linkages opportunities and various social security schemes.
The programme was followed by spot registration for bank loans and enrolment of SHG members in various social security schemes. Altogether, 60 SHG members enrolled for social security schemes.
Bhandari: Special FI drive was organised for the community on April 12 at Bhandari Town Hall by Block Mission Management Unit, Bhandari Rural Development (RD) block under the aegis of the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) RD department.
In a press release, the department informed that during the programme, resources persons highlighted FI schemes and various social welfare schemes rolled out by the government.
State Bank of India (SBI) Bhandari, branch manager, Chumben Yanthan spoke about the benefits of opening and linking back accounts with various social security schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY among others.
The programme was chaired by accountant cum DEO NSRLM, Bhandari block, Nchumbeni R Ezung, welcome address was delivered by BPM-NSRLM Bhandari, R Erenbeni Ngullie, area coordinator-FI, NSRLM, Shanjos E Kikon gave an overview on financial inclusion status under Bhandari block and AC- livelihoods, Bhandari RD block, James Y Tungoe delivered the vote of thanks.
Ghathashi: FI mela was conducted on April 12 by BMMU Ghathashi in collaboration with Nagaland Rural Bank Pughoboto branch at Ghathashi town council hall.
In a press release, BPM Ghathashi block, S Kanitoli Chishi informed that resource person, branch manager NRB Pughoboto encouraged SHG members to grasp the opportunities available to them which would help them become self-sufficient.
He focussed on the importance of insurance schemes which were available at low premium rate offered by central government.
He also introduced mobile ATM van which was recently launched by their bank branch.AC-FI Toka Chishi also exhorted SHG members on the importance of insurance and how the community should help the village for active participation and enrolment in insurance scheme.
The programme was chaired by Toliho AC-skills. Altogether, 250 SHG members participated in the FI-Mela, 125 enrolled for PMSBY,16 for PMJJBY and 78 opened savings bank account.
Noklak village: BMMU, RD block Noklak organised FI Mela at White Hall, Noklak Village on Wednesday under the aegis of NSRLM.
According to a DIPR report, EAC Noklak Kathyinla said in order to uplift social economy, SHGs should work hard and start something different in the form of businesses.
Seeing the potential of organic products in the district, she encouraged them to start the supply of organic products outside the district.
The EAC also said all women should work hard to be financially independent by getting the benefits from all schemes provided by the government.
Meanwhile, BDO cum BMM Noklak Namsung Phom shared the importance of Aadhaar and bank account to get the benefits of government schemes.
Namsung encouraged SHGs to continue working on income-generating sectors and uplift the socio economic condition of the district.
Supervisor Social Welfare department Noklak, Hemping spoke on National Social Assistance Programme such as IGNOAPS, IGNWPS, IGNDPS and NPBS schemes.
Under Integrated Child Development Services, Hemping elaborated on supplementary nutrition, pre-school non-formal education, immunization, referral services, etc and also talked about Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan.
Bank talk was delivered by SBI, Noklak Bank staff, Worreithing Ruivah and explained on savings account, recurrent account, fixed deposit, public provided fund, and “Atal Pension Yojana”.
District coordinator, Health/SHA Noklak Mono spoke on AB-PMJAY while keynote on FI Mela was given by DC MIS NSRLM, Tuensang Bujong.
The programme was chaired by area coordinator (FI) Khulem Khiamniungan, welcome note by BPM Noklak S. Chillio Khiamniungan and vote of thanks was delivered by AC, SI/SD Khuno Khiamniungan.
Meanwhile, facilitation of various programmes and schemes were conducted during the occasion.
Wokha town: NSRLM RD Block Wokha organised FI mela commemorating at Likya Community Hall Wokha Town.
In a press release, the block informed that the programme was organised by BMMU with an attendance from Englan Yingsung Women Livelihood Thrift and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd and Wokha Circle Federation.
At the mela, EAC headquarters Wokha, Aloto encouraged the eligible beneficiaries to take advantage of various available schemes through the banks and stressed on judicial use of financial resources.
AC (Skills) Chumbenthung E Yanthan highlighted various training prospects offered through the NSRLM under DDU-GKY and encouraged more youths to take advantage of this scheme and skill up for better employment prospects.
AC (SISD) H Wophyomo chaired the mela while the block programme manager, Nzanbemo Y Patton welcomed the resource persons and all the participating members.
