Lok Sabha MP, S. Supongmeren Jamir, and Nagaland chief minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, will grace the 70th general conference of the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) scheduled to be held at Chungtia village from January 13 to 15, 2026.
The conference will be held under the theme “Strengthening Horizons.”
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, AKM members along with Chungtia Students’ Union and the local planning committee highlighted the preparations and shared details of the upcoming event.
According to AKM, Supongmeren Jamir will grace the inaugural function on January 13, while Dr. Neiphiu Rio will attend the second and main day of the conference.
Minister for RD & SIRD, Metsubo Jamir, will also attend the second day, and advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, T.N. Mannen, will grace the valedictory session as special guest.
Hectic preparations are underway, with the host village expecting around 1700 delegates representing 73 village units, 14 town units, and four units from outside the state.
The conference will feature an Ao spelling bee competition and panel discussions with eminent personalities under the theme “Generation Next: Navigating education, politics, media, religion and entrepreneurship in a changing world.”
