Nagaland Taekwondo team shines at International Open Kukkiwon Cup 2025

DIMAPUR, OCT 13 (NPN)

The Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) delivered a stellar performance at the International Open Kukkiwon Cup 2025 held in Delhi from October 9 to 12. A contingent of 16 athletes, led by coach Santsuthung Ngullie and team manager Ram Bahadur, represented the state in the prestigious event.
The Nagaland team clinched an impressive total of 11 medals—5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze across various categories, showcasing the growing strength and talent of Taekwondo practitioners from the region.
In the KYORUGI Fresher category, the medal winners included: Andrew N Lotha – Gold (Under 45kg); Randanbemo Z Kikon – Gold (Under 49kg); Thungben Lotha – Gold (Under 57kg); Jongibemo L Ngullie – Silver (Under 33kg); Solan C Ngullie – Bronze (Under 22kg); Lalmalson Doungel – Bronze (Under 20kg); Wonchibemo R Ngullie – Bronze (Under 41kg).
In the Poomsae Regular category: Sanjay Chetri secured Gold in the Under 40 years division.
In the KYORUGI Regular category: Lakhan Chettri – Gold (Cadet Under 33kg); Nikhel Bosfor – Silver (Junior Under 45kg); Antimonyu Chang – Silver (Senior Girls Under 67kg).
The NTA extended heartfelt gratitude to all affiliated district associations, the Director of Youth Resources and Sports, and the president of NTA for providing the platform and support that enabled the team’s participation and success at the international level.
