DIMAPUR

Tetso College, in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Stella Maris College (Chennai) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati, organised the International Conference “Reimagining SoTL for Inclusive and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy” from December 17–18 at SPPU, Pune under the banner of Leading Together 2025.
Since its inception in 2021, Leading Together has grown from a student-led platform on leadership and the Sustainable Development Goals into a global academic forum foregrounding equity, identity and belonging in higher education. The 2025 edition positioned the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) as a transformative, evidence-informed practice, questioning whose knowledges, identities and futures are centred in curriculum, assessment and learning design.
The inaugural workshop on SoTL as transformative practice was facilitated by Dr. Nira Rahman of the University of Melbourne, followed by parallel sessions on innovative teaching practices, technology and the future of learning, curriculum and assessment, and student voice and partnership.
Day 1 featured the panel “Leading Together: Transnational Collaboration, Inclusive Education & Transformative Pedagogy” moderated by Dr. Ali Saha, Lecturer, University of Melbourne, and Dr. Shivani Singh, Assistant Professor, SPPU. Panelists included Prof. Kate MacNeil, Dr. Lakshmi Priya Daniel, Dr. Pradeep Taneja and Prof. Chaitra Redkar. Presentations included “Inclusive Pedagogies in Hybrid and Digital Learning Environments: A Nagaland Perspective” by Dr. Rosy Tep, Vice Principal, Tetso College; Short Film Making as a Pedagogy for Business Ethics and Values by Pratik Potdar; and Creating Inclusive and Engaged Classrooms in Northeast India by Rosy L. Zhimo and Rinmayo Rainam, MA students of Tetso College.
On Day 2, the panel “Leading Together Forward” was moderated by Dr. Hewasa Khing, Principal, Tetso College, and Dr. Joseph Riamei, TISS Guwahati. Panelists included Dr. Ajay Joshi, practicing dentist with a Ph.D in Theatre Criticism; Prof. Anagha Tambe, Associate Professor, Department of Women and Gender Studies, SPPU; Prof. V. Ratnamala, Department of Mass Communication, Mizoram University; and Dr. Wapansenla Imchen, HoD of Management, Tetso College. Insights were shared from theatre, gender studies, media and education.
The cultural evening “Resonance: Culture Meets Pedagogy”, collaborative discussions and closing ceremony reinforced the conference’s core aim: co-creating culturally grounded, inclusive and future-ready pedagogies that place students at the centre.
