Nagaland to experience light rainfall till Apr 15: NSDMA

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has informed that Nagaland would experience light rainfall and cloudy moderate rain in almost all the districts till April 15, 2025.

In a press release, commissioner & secretary Lhouchalie Viya said these showers could be accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places. During this period, NSDMA said intermittent rainfall was expected in the districts of Kiphire, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Noklak, Peren, Phek, Shamatore, Tseminyu, Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto.

It said the remaining districts could receive cloudy moderate rain and overcast moderate rain. As a result, NSDMA said it was vital to take the necessary measures including avoiding lightning strikes and high winds, which can disrupt communication and connectivity.

Due to the risk of high precipitation in the hill sector, it said Nagaland’s lowland and foothill districts were vulnerable to inundated waterlogging and flash floods.
