International Women’s Day 2017 under the theme “Women in the challenging world of work: Planet 50-50 by 2030” would be celebrated on March 8 at 11 a.m. at Nagaland University, Kohima campus, Meriema with Minister for Social Welfare & Parliamentary Affairs, Kiyanilie Peseyie as the chief guest.
In the programme, chief secretary, Pankaj Kumar will deliver the keynote address; chairperson, Nagaland State Commission for Women, Dr. TemsulaAo will speak on the topic “Strength of the Women”; Pro. Vice Chancellor, NU, Prof. BunoLiegise will speak on “empowering through quality education”; Mission Director, SRWC Secretary, NSSWB, Daisy Mezhur will give a highlight on one stop centre and women helpline (181) while Director, Social Welfare. T. Merangtsungba Aier will chair the programme.
The programme is being organized by Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, State Resource Centre for Women and Women Studies Centre, Nagaland University.
