Nagaland to observe ‘Poshan Maah’

Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan Nagaland has informed that it would be celebrating “Poshan Maah” along with key stakeholders in the month of September 2021.

In a press release, SPMU, Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan Kohima has informed that poshan abhiyan (National Nutrition Mission) aims to achieve improvement in status of nutrition of children and women.
Key convergence departments include DoSW, school education, local administration, RD-NSRLM, H& FW – AYUSH & PHED.
The release informed that panchayati raj institutions were nodal point at grassroots level and during the implementation of weekly thematic activities, the role of panchayati raj would be to envisage in community mobilisation, creating awareness in general, specifically in the following weekly activities. 
Action plan for the month-long celebration include: plantation activity (1st week); Yoga and AYUSH for nutrition (2nd week); nutrition kits distribution to anganwadi beneficiaries in high burden districts (3rd week); identification of SAM children (4th week) and essay & quiz competition (5th week).
