Nagaland will showcase its contemporary music and creative talent at Music Matters, one of Asia’s leading music industry events, with a standalone “Made in Nagaland” showcase scheduled for October 3 in Singapore.
The showcase will feature Naga artistes Street Stories, Moko Koza, Gluttones and Shau Evans, who will perform on the Main Stage, presenting the diversity, energy and contemporary sound of Nagaland to an international audience.
The participation is expected to provide the artistes an opportunity to connect with musicians, industry professionals, promoters and audiences from different parts of the world. It will also provide greater visibility to Nagaland’s growing music ecosystem and its emerging generation of performers and creators.
The “Made in Nagaland” showcase is part of the State’s continuing efforts to create international platforms for its artistes and promote Nagaland’s music, talent and creative identity beyond the region.
Through the showcase, Nagaland’s artistes will present a contemporary musical expression rooted in the State’s diverse cultural landscape, while engaging with a wider international music community.
The Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for his vision and continued support in promoting Nagaland’s creative talent internationally.
TaFMA also acknowledged Music Matters for providing the platform and creating opportunities for Nagaland’s artistes and music ecosystem. It also expressed appreciation to Fastrack and Titan Company Limited for their support and belief in Nagaland’s creative journey.
According to TaFMA chairman Theja Meru, the “Made in Nagaland” showcase reflects the State’s continuing journey of taking its creative story “from roots to routes, and from Nagaland to the world.”
The participation at Music Matters comes as Nagaland continues to build greater links between its local creative community and international platforms, with music serving as one of the key avenues for showcasing the State’s cultural identity and contemporary artistic expression.
