Advisor for tribal affairs and election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi, graced the Diwali get-together and luncheon ceremony organized by Janjati Vikas Samiti Nagaland (JVSN) at Rani Gaidinliu Hostel, Signal Angami Basti, Dimapur, on Sunday.
Addressing the programme as a guest of honor, Ayemi said that all citizens of Nagaland, irrespective of community or background, must keep the state close to their hearts and work collectively for state’s progress.
He also lauded JVSN for its commendable initiatives towards upliftment and development of tribal population, stating that the organization has been carrying out wonderful job in empowering the community to progress at par with others.
Underscoring the importance of education, Ayemi further noted that education is the most vital tool to transform and uplift of any community.
He later encouraged members of JVSN to continue their good works and contribute towards building a more inclusive and educated society.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by president, Dimapur Nagar Samiti, Ashok Agarwal, and president, Dimapur Nagar Mahila Samiti, Sanjana Agarwal.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by songs, dances, and cultural performances by students and teachers from various institutions.
