Advisor Tribal Affairs and Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi, inaugurated Niu colony council hall and office building at Niu colony, Burma camp in Dimapur on Tuesday.
Speaking as special guest at the inaugural programme, Tovihoto congratulated the Niu colony council members on successfully completing the construction of council hall and office building.
He described the building as not just a structure but stood as a symbol of unity and collective vision. Advisor also asserted that it reflected what could be achieved when community came together with a shared purpose and commitment.
He expressed confidence that with the completion of the building, the Niu colony council would further strengthen in its governance, transparency and community participation.
The advisor affirmed his commitment to continue to work for the overall development of the constituency.
Niu Colony Council expressed appreciation to Tovihoto for his support in the construction of the Niu colony council hall and office building.
The council also lauded his leadership and commitment towards the welfare and development of the people. NCC said his continued support for the colony was a true reflection of his dedication to public service.
On the occasion, DMC councillor Ward No.22 H Kivikali Chishi and DUCCF president Zasivikho Zakiesato also delivered short speeches.
The programme was chaired by council vice-chairman Tosukha G Chophy. Earlier, DBSC pastor Rev. Khetoni Shikhu offered invocation and council chairman Vikiye Swu delivered welcome address.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Niu colony GB Hozka K Awomi, and prayer convenor Aheto Zhimo gave benediction. Members of Sumi Totimi Loka Niu Colony also presented cultural item.
