Nagaland: Traffic advisory in view of NWA championship

DIMAPUR

The deputy commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem has issued a traffic advisory in view of the Nagaland Wrestling Association Championship- 2026 to be held on March 7, at Khuochiezie Local Ground
The advisory stated that Y-Junction (Phoolbari) to South Gate shall remain One-Way Traffic. The Local Ground Bypass shall be closed for public thoroughfare; only vehicles with car passes issued by the organizers shall be allowed.
Also, DC Office Junction to South Gate shall be converted to one-way traffic. Vehicles entering from D-Block or Y-Junction must exit via the DC Office/ Assam Rifles Gate. One-side parking shall be permitted as per the availability of parking space.

Parking zones:
Guests and attendees arriving from neighbouring districts or other parts of Kohima may park vehicles in the following areas to reduce town traffic:
For the west part of Kohima, parking is allowed on available spaces on NH-29, Ladies Mile Road, & Kohima Science College Road. For the north part of Kohima, available spaces from High School Jn. up to Keziekie. For the south part of Kohima, (inclusive of other districts via NH-2), available spaces on NH-2 (Box Cutting Jn. Classic Island Jn.), Kohima Law College area, and PR Hill MLCP. For the east part, available spaces in Kiyake, BSF Camp, Seikhazou, Kitsubozou, and DBHS area. In the main town area, available spaces from TCP Gate to Razhu Point (via NST) & NST MLCP. 6) City Centre/MLCP: Vehicles to enter via DC Office Jn. and exit via Phoolbari only.
The advisory also directed drivers to display contact number on vehicle windshield and requested attendees from Kohima town to avoid personal vehicles.
It also advised the general public to avoid non-essential travels within the town area.
The advisory also warned against indiscriminate parking, adding that it will result in traffic rule violation and vehicles shall be towed at the expense of vehicle owners. Authorities shall not be liable for towing-related damages.
