Nagaland: Training on RI micro planning & health strengthening activities

District level training on RI micro planning and health strengthening activities was held on September 13, at DH conference hall, Mon with SPC UNICEF Dr LongriKichu, SPC consultant UNICEF Dr PangjungPongen, and RPO UNDP ImliLongkumer as the resource person.

Speaking in the programme, SPC UNICEF Dr. Longri Kichu, emphasized on the state intends to developed a proper microplan for RI as the targets and percentages are extremely low when utilizing census data.

He stated that the ministry has permitted states to perform accurate headcounts and has asked to fill out all of the necessary forms so that the ministry’s verification team could come and verify them. Dr Kichu also presented the current status of RI in the state through Health Management Information System (HMIS) review, RI microplan issues and MR Eliminination.

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Mon Dr. Supongmenla Walling emphasized on the relevance of the training and the need to update data once a year on eligible couples and children under the age of five. The training was attended by Medical Officers, Community Health Officers, DPM, DCM, ANMs, BPMs and Asha Cordinators. The programme was chaired by (RCH&UIP) DPO Dr wungyong.
