Nagaland training on value addition of Mithun meat

DIMAPUR

A three-day training programme on ‘Skill enhancement training on value addition of mithun meat and local resources for livelihood improvement’ concluded at ICAR–NRC on Mithun, Medziphema.
Addressing the gathering, director, ICAR–NRC on Mithun, Dr. Girish Patil S, highlighted the institute’s continuous efforts in promoting value addition and skill development for enhancing farmers’ livelihoods. He also distributed certificates to the participants and encouraged them to adopt the demonstrated technologies for income generation. Sr. scientist & head, KVK Dimapur, Dr. Phool Kumari, also addressed the gathering, appreciating the institute’s initiatives. The training witnessed hands-on sessions on kiwi juice and wine preparation by Dr. Aabon Yanthan, Mithun meat value addition by Dr. Sunitibala Devi and Vivi, banana fibre product making by Atsole, and pickle preparation by Dr. Ruth.
Participants also undertook a field visit to Konger Agritech, where Dr. Sosang, director, demonstrated oyster and shiitake mushroom cultivation and explained the spawn production process. A brief report on the training was also presented by CTO, KVK Phek, Dr. T. Esther Longkumer, followed by participants’ feedback.
