Nagaland Tribes Council holds consultative meet

Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) held a consultative meeting at Tourist Lodge here on Tuesday. The closed-door meeting, which lasted over four hours, was attended by representatives from three apex tribes.
After the meeting, the representatives, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that although invitations were extended to eight apex tribe hohos, only three attended.
When asked about the purpose of the meeting, NTC representatives declined to comment and said that final standpoints were yet to be drafted.

Nagaland Tribes Council had invited to the meeting eight apex tribe hohos with at least two office bearers including Angami Public Organization (APO), Ao Senden, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO), Lotha hoho, Pochury hoho, Rengma hoho, Sümi hoho and Nagaland Zeliang Public Organization (NZPO).
The meeting was convened to evaluate better understanding before re-organization of Nagaland Tribes Council.
The meeting’s purpose was also to evolve any possibility of restructuring the Nagaland Tribes Council as resolved by the eight tribes at APO Hall, Kohima on February 2, 2024.
