Nagaland UNB-Naga Colony condemns fatal assault

Dimapur

United North Block- Naga Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur, has expressed deep anguish over the tragic incident that led to the untimely demise of Mhathung Lotha on November 11, 2025. In a statement UNB-Naga Colony chairman, Zasivikho Zakiesato and general secretary, T. Toshi Aier stated that the incident could have been prevented had the involved parties refrained from taking the law into their own hands.
“No words or actions can justify the loss of lives in our democratic society,” the statement stated, as the colony condemned the sequence of events that culminated in the fatality. The community offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace, urging the family to find strength and solace during this time of grief.
The colony also issued a strong appeal to its residents and the wider Naga community to uphold the rule of law. It cautioned against the growing tendency to resort to vigilante actions, emphasizing that justice must be sought through lawful means. “Taking the law into our own hands and appealing for justice at a later stage has become a concerning trend,” the statement noted.
The UNB further encouraged residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and to promptly inform the police when witnessing any untoward incidents. It reaffirmed the colony’s commitment to fully cooperate with investigating authorities to ensure justice is delivered at the earliest.
