A week-long Under-19 Cricket Coaching Camp is currently underway in Kiphire, organised by the Kiphire District Cricket Association (KDCA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association. The camp, which began on December 8, is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
The initiative aims to train young talents, strengthen their fundamentals and instil discipline among upcoming players in the district.
President of the Kiphire District Cricket Association, Justin Khatomong T, said the association is committed to uplifting young cricketers in every possible way.
He urged participants to make full use of the opportunities provided and lauded their determination despite limited infrastructure and facilities. He added that the association will continue working to raise cricket in Kiphire to a higher level.
During the ongoing sessions, official umpire of the Kiphire District Cricket Association, Longtili C. Sangtam, encouraged the young players to uphold discipline as a foundation for achieving their dreams. He reminded them that discipline shapes character, helps them handle pressure on the field, and enables each player to grow into an expert in their respective roles.
The camp also emphasizes teamwork, physical fitness, and mental strength, offering participants a holistic sports experience.
Daily training sessions, drills, and interactive learning have helped build confidence and inspire a spirit of sportsmanship.
With the camp concluding tomorrow, the initiative is expected to benefit budding cricketers of Kiphire and encourage more youths to take up the sport in the future.
