Nagaland Unity March conducted in Mon

In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a District Level Padyatra with Unity March was organised by My Bharat Mon in coordination with the District Administration Mon on November 24, from Mon helipad to Town Council Hall.
According to a DIPR report, Games & Sports secretary of Konyak Students’ Union, Y. Chingkap Konyak, in his speech recalled the life and contributions of Patel, highlighted the significance of the day, and encouraged students and the gathering to uphold the spirit of unity, peace and prosperity. He also flagged off the Unity March.
Delivering the presidential address, Chingkem Konyak, UDA, DSO (Sports) Mon, said the Unity March is a nation-wide initiative launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to engage youths in nation building and instil patriotism. He emphasized that the march reflects India’s unity in diversity and urged the gathering to commit themselves to peace and unity in celebration of Patel’s legacy.
The programme included the National Song, followed by the administering of the unity pledge by T. Imlongchaba Chang, EAC Mon HQ. A cultural song was presented by Brawny Young Men’s Society, Mon Town, while students from Government High School Mon Town ‘C’ and GHSS Mon delivered youth speeches.
The event was chaired by Kum. Kedoseno Rino, EAC Mon HQ, with invocation pronounced by Changki, Pastor Tompang Ward Fellowship Mon. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by T. Imlongchaba Chang, followed by the National Anthem.
