Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, My Bharat, Niuland in collaboration with the district administration organised a Unity March to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on November 13, at Niuland Town.
During the flagged off programme at Niuland Town Clock, deputy commissioner Niuland, Sara S Jamir stated that the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is the testament of courage and dedication that gave his selfless service to the nation, and called him the Iron man of India for uniting the diverse country. She urged the youths to embody the quality that he has sown for the country and work together for integrity, security, safety and social harmony.
Jamir also acknowledged the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports for organizing the event to bring the message of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the youths in the district.
In his speech, Deputy Commissioner of Police Niuland, Manish Bhartiya, urged the youths to work beyond the limits to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The program also witnessed cultural performance from the students of GHSS Niuland, while Limeka from RHSM School and Vilotoli Yeptho from GHSS delivered short speeches.
Earlier, the program was chaired by K. Manikanta, District Youth Officer, My Bharat.
