Nagaland Unity March in Longleng to honour Sardar Patel

DIMAPUR

To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Longleng district administration in coordination with Mera Yuva Bharat (MYB) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organized a District Level Padayatra (Unity March) on November 12 under the theme “Sardar @150 Ek Bharat Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
According to DIPR, the Padayatra was flagged off by Superintendent of Police Longleng, Yanger Jamir, from the DC’s office complex and culminated at the public ground, Longleng. Students from various schools across the district and Yingli College participated in the march, aimed at fostering unity and civic awareness through meaningful engagement.
A short programme was held at the DC’s office complex, chaired by District Sports Officer Longleng, Anguto Thokhwe. The event featured cultural performances by students of Bautung Government Higher Secondary School and a campaign briefing by Hitesh Kumar, District Youth Officer, MYB Longleng.
Special guest M. Arulmaran, Senior Principal of Bautung Higher Secondary School, expressed appreciation to all participants and highlighted the enduring legacy of Sardar Patel. He said Patel’s life exemplified unity, discipline, and integrity, values that must be upheld and passed on to future generations.
The programme concluded with closing remarks from the District Sports Officer.
