My Bharat Wokha, in coordination with the Wokha district administration, organised a district-level Unity March on November 4 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India,
The march began at 7:00 a.m. from Police Point and concluded at Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, government officials, and members of the public.
At Mount Tiyi College, the formal programme commenced with a flag-off rally led by, ADC Wokha, Renbomo Ezung followed by a media briefing and unity pledge administered by, district youth officer, My Bharat, Hitesh Kumar.
The event featured a series of activities including a cultural performance by Mount Tiyi College NSS, garlanding of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s portrait, and speeches highlighting Patel’s enduring legacy of national integration.
The chief guest, Renbemo Ezung, in his address, called for collective responsibility in upholding the spirit of unity and oneness that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel championed. He reminded the youth that they are the future of the nation and urged them to lead lives rooted in discipline, integrity, and purpose while staying away from drugs and other harmful influences.
Emphasising the vision of Mera Bharat, he encouraged young people to actively contribute towards building a united, progressive, and self-reliant India through community service, mutual respect, and national pride.
In his presidential address, Hitesh Kumar provided an overview of the programme and emphasised on the importance of youth participation in fostering unity and nation-building.
The event concluded with cultural presentations, youth speeches, and the national anthem, marking a fitting tribute to the architect of modern India.
