An interactive session between the faculty members of the School of Engineering & Technology (SET), Nagaland University (NU), Kohima Campus, and Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Guwahati, Zikrul Hasan Fahad, was held on October 12, at the Seminar Hall, SET–NU, Kohima Campus.
The event began with a welcome address by Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. N. Venuh. Following this, School of Engineering & Technology, Prof. Sujata Dash, Dean extended her welcome to the guests and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the School’s departments, ongoing research projects, and academic initiatives.
Prof. Sujata Dash, highlighted key areas for future collaboration between the universities, including joint research projects in sustainable engineering, renewable energy, and environmental management, student and faculty exchange programs to enhance mutual learning and interdisciplinary skills building, internship opportunities for cross-cultural industry and research experience, a collaborative Master’s program in Disaster Management focusing on climate resilience, disaster preparedness and sustainable development, and jointly organized workshops and technical seminars to promote innovation, research communication, and cultural exchange.
During the interaction, Zikrul Hasan Fahad expressed appreciation for Nagaland University’s proactive approach and extended his support for establishing academic linkages with leading Bangladeshi universities. Potential areas of cooperation discussed included student exchange programs, internships, joint research initiatives, and the development of a collaborative Master’s program in Disaster Management.
Department of English, Prof. Nigamananda Das, shared that international students from Bangladesh were already pursuing higher studies and research at Nagaland University, underscoring the institution’s growing global engagement and welcoming academic environment.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Head, Dept. of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Prof. Prabhakar Sharma.
