Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, conducted its 22nd Social Parting programme under the theme “Nyra: The Next Chapter” on May 16 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, marking a heartfelt farewell for the outgoing students. The event brought together graduating seniors for a final gathering filled with reflection, gratitude, and celebration of their academic journey.
Addressing the gathering, the President, Putusunep, expressed appreciation for the outgoing batch and acknowledged the legacy they leave behind for future students.
The programme was graced by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Prof. N. Venuh, as the chief guest. In his address, he shared words of wisdom and encouragement for the graduating students, stating that while “physically we part, memories remain,” reflecting on the enduring bond between students and the institution.
Prof. N. Venuh shared insights on navigating life and its challenges, stating that personal growth comes only through self-challenge and perseverance. He cautioned the students about the different forms of corruption in life, noting that it extends beyond material aspects to include the betrayal of duties and misuse of power and position. Encouraging the graduates, he remarked that no one is too young or inexperienced to make a meaningful difference. He advised them to remain sincere, humble, and confident in order to succeed in both personal and social life. Emphasising the importance of a positive outlook, he stated that while being critical is necessary, it should not be equated with negativity. Concluding his address, he extended his best wishes and reflected on the beauty of God’s creation, encouraging the students to use their talents for the greater good.
A special prayer was done by the leading Pastor of City Church, Kohima, Kedo. The program ended with a vote of thanks followed by a benediction.
