Nagaland University observes ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’

Nagaland University (NU) observed the week long ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2025’, under the theme- “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”, which culminated o Friday at the I Ihoshe Kinimi Hall, Nagaland University, Lumami, with advisor, School Education, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome said that it was a happy moment to be celebrating the culmination of the week long observance of the Vigilance Awareness.
He stated that as a young society we are exposed to many things that are unfamiliar to us, as was the practices of the rule of law.
Having been introduced to modernity, he added that people are moving towards a semblance of a society at a very fast pace, but the society has been very adaptable due to education.
Education was a privilege, the special guest stated, adding that it comes with a responsibility to curb the vulnerability from the many dangers posed upon the young society, by integrating with the rule of law.
Dr. Yhome said that democracy functions well when there are good citizens that are ever vigilant against negative aspects, to dispense proper justice for all. Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome also lauded the faculty members led by the Vice Chancellor and the student community for their close co-ordination and co-operation, in uplifting the Nagaland University to be one of the top institutions in the country.
Earlier, a brief speech was delivered by Vice Chancellor, N U, Prof. Jagadish K Patnaik and vigilance pledge was administered by the chairperson of the function, Dr. Neizhanuo Golmei, while the special guest was felicitated by vigilance officer & convenor, Dr. Lanusashhi Longkumer.
The weeklong activities on ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2025’, report was delivered by member secretary, organizing committee, Kehoshe Sumi, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sandeep Gupta.
Later, having administered the ‘Unity Pledge’, a walk in the campus was carried out by the faculties and the students.
