Shisak Sharma, a Doctoral Student in the Department of Chemistry at Nagaland University (Lumami), was recently awarded the prestigious “Overall Best Performance” title at the International Conference on Innovations in Nanomaterials, Nano Devices & Smart Technologies (INNOST NANO 2025), held from November 12-14. The conference, was jointly organized by SGT University, Gurugram, and Research Wheel Publishers.
Sharma’s contribution to the scientific sessions earned him the top honor, in addition to the “Best Paper Presentation” award in the technical session. His research was also recognized with the Research Excellence Award. Sharma’s presentation, titled Next-Generation Photocatalysts for Advanced Water Purification, highlighted his pioneering work in environmental science, underscoring Nagaland University’s commitment to advancing research in sustainable technologies.
The conference witnessed 33 technical sessions with over 300 participants presenting cutting-edge research across various fields of nanoscience, nanotechnology, and smart materials. INNOST NANO 2025 served as a global platform for scientists, academics, industry leaders, and policymakers to engage in discussions about the latest developments in these rapidly advancing fields and their potential to shape the future of technology and society.
Vice-chancellor, Nagaland University, professor J.K. Patnaik, congratulated Sharma on his remarkable achievement, stating that his success has brought great pride to the university. Professor Ambrish Singh, head of the Department of Chemistry, also praised Sharma for his outstanding performance, highlighting the international recognition of Nagaland University’s research capabilities.
