Nagaland USSC welcomes Union FM’s visit; seeks public support

DIMAPUR

United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has welcomed the Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, ahead of her scheduled visit to Kiphire Aspirational District.
In a press release issued following an inspection of the ongoing preparations, USSC stated that the visit is expected to bring renewed attention to the developmental challenges faced by the district. The Conference appealed to the public and the district administration to extend full cooperation and ensure that Kiphire presents its best in terms of hospitality, cleanliness and civic order during the high-profile visit.
USSC appreciated the efforts of the district administration in carrying out remedial works despite limited fund allocation, and acknowledged the prompt action taken to fill potholes in preparation for the visit. The Conference expressed its commitment to support initiatives that reflect genuine progress for the district.
However, USSC also expressed dismay over the poor condition of circular roads in Kiphire headquarters, stating that the concerned department had failed to act despite prior intimation of the minister’s visit. It lamented that such negligence reflects the broader attitude of certain departments, contributing to Kiphire’s placement in the bottom tier of performance indices.
The Conference urged the concerned department to expedite blacktopping of the circular roads and called for greater accountability in public service delivery.
USSC reaffirmed its support to ensure that the Union Finance Minister’s visit will be a successful and memorable event for the people of Kiphire.
