A two-day Vendor Development Programme (VDP) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme concluded on February 27 at Tuensang Town Hall. The programme was organised by YouthNet in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC), and the Ministry of MSME, supported by the World Bank.
The initiative sought to bring together Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and financial institutions to facilitate vendor linkages, strengthen competitiveness, and expand market access for local enterprises.
Sessions were delivered by representatives from the State GST Department, State Bank of India (SBI), Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC), Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), and Nagaland State Co-operative Bank. Key topics included GST compliance for MSMEs, vendor development and credit linkages, NHHDC initiatives, KVIC schemes, promotion of indigenous products under RAMP’s Naturally Nagaland initiative, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), and Amazon seller registration.
The programme also featured MSME journey sharing by two local entrepreneurs, offering practical insights into enterprise building. Over 70 participants from Tuensang, Shamator, and Noklak districts—representing sectors such as food processing, handloom, handicrafts, weaving, retail, agriculture, and services—actively took part. An exhibition of MSME products showcased the rich entrepreneurial talent of Nagaland’s business community.
YouthNet informed that similar programmes will be organised across the state to empower and build the capacity of MSMEs, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nagaland.
