Nagaland venture showcases cybersecurity business at Bharat Mandapam

A technology venture from Nagaland, NEXUSCIPHERGUARD India, participated in the four-day Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 held from August 12 to 15 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Founded by Pangerkumzuk Longkumer, the Kohima-based company participated in the national trade exhibition alongside businesses, traders, manufacturers, startups and institutions from across the country.
Organised jointly by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the event was positioned as a platform for Indian businesses to connect with domestic and international markets.
Official information released ahead of the event projected more than 1,000 exhibitors, over 2 lakh business delegates and nearly 10 lakh visitors, including more than 5,000 foreign delegates.
Longkumer said the exhibition provided an opportunity to engage with foreign delegates, explore potential markets and understand how people outside the region viewed the company’s work.
“Being there gave us the opportunity to have conversations that would probably be difficult to have from within our usual market. I was able to connect with foreign delegates, explore potential markets and understand how people outside the region look at what we are building,” he said.
He said the company also had interactions relating to funding, investment and potential growth opportunities, while clarifying that such discussions should not be construed as confirmed investments.
“There were also conversations around funding, investment and possible opportunities for growth. Nothing should be taken as a confirmed investment simply because a conversation happened, but the exposure itself was valuable,” he said.
NEXUSCIPHERGUARD India operates in the technology and digital security sector, with services including cybersecurity awareness, vulnerability assessment, security consulting and related technology services.
The company was incorporated in Kohima in December 2024, with Longkumer listed as its director.
Longkumer said the participation also provided an opportunity to assess the company’s prospects beyond Nagaland.
“It was also about testing ourselves outside Nagaland. If you are building something from the Northeast, you have to eventually find out whether the same value proposition makes sense to people sitting in Delhi, Bengaluru or even outside India,” he said.
He said cybersecurity was becoming increasingly relevant as businesses and institutions became more dependent on digital systems, with risks including phishing, social engineering, compromised accounts and exposed information.
Longkumer had previously written and spoken about cybersecurity concerns in Nagaland and the Northeast, including a commentary published by EastMojo in May 2026 on digital growth and cybersecurity.
He said the exhibition participation should be viewed as an opportunity rather than an achievement in itself.
“The exhibition was an opportunity, not an achievement by itself. What matters now is whether we can take those conversations forward and turn them into something useful for the business,” he said.
For a technology venture based in Nagaland, participation in a national trade platform provided exposure to potential customers, partners and investors beyond the Northeast, while also allowing the company to test its services and business proposition in a wider market.
