Vizachü Peli (Peli No.15) of Tsiituonuomia Khel Kohima village, celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Wednesday at Rutsa (Bypass) with a call to uphold family values, unity and responsible living on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman of T. Khel Council, Kohima Village, K. Neibou Sekhose, said that while 25 years may not seem very long, it was nonetheless a significant milestone to reflect on how the clan came together and to cherish memories of the journey. He described Vizachü as one of the cherished Peli among the Nagas and cautioned that such occasions also come with temptations, especially when one feels strong and influential.
Applauding the Vizachü for their commendable work and contributions to society, Sekhose noted that good deeds often go unappreciated in today’s world but urged members to maintain a positive mindset and focus on the brighter side of life. Calling them the pride of the community, he encouraged them to continue their good work and strive to become better each day. He further challenged them to work harder, grow stronger and put God first, assuring that success and light would follow. Stressing that everything begins within the family, he said the foundation of a good child is built at home, and urged members to prioritize their families, be responsible men and women, and remember that a good society is rooted in strong and healthy families.
Earlier, the jubilee stone and badze (resting place) were unveiled by the chief guest. The location was donated by the family of late Keneisetshu (Achu) Sekhose, a member of the Peli.
Convenor of the organizing committee, Zhakuo Whuorie, pronounced jubilee greetings and highlighted the history and formation of the clan. Pastor Rev. Atuo Whuorie of BMC Kohima offered the invocation, while secretary of the organizing committee, Peteneizo Belho, chaired the programme. Virienyü Phewhuo Pehü delivered the vote of thanks.
A new poem composed by Kevisenyii Zatsu was presented for the occasion. Vizachü Peli currently has 219 registered members, with 11 deceased.
