Nagaland Western Sumi bodies ask members to join peace rally; Dmu-based CSOs appeal to down shutters for rally today

DIMAPUR, NOV 17 (NPN)

Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) through its vice president Vikato K Achumi and general secretary Vikato Shikhu Achumi has directed all members of the Sumi community under its jurisdiction to participate in the upcoming Naga Political Peace Rally.
This rally, organized by the Nagaland GBs Federation, is scheduled for November 18, 2025 at the Agri Expo Site.
In a separate notice, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) president Khehovi Chophi and general secretary Shiwoto Chishi also directed all members to actively and positively participate in the Common Naga Public Rally scheduled for November 18, 2025, at Agri Expo.
Further, Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) through its president Atokiho Sumi and general secretary Botoho Achumi has also informed the WSYF members and its units to attend the common platform organised by NGBF at Agri Expo, on November 18.

Appeal for shutter-down during rally: In view of the Common Platform for an early Naga political solution scheduled on November 18 at Agri Expo, Chümoukedima, the Peace Committee, Nagaland GB Federation, Dimapur District GB Association, GB Union Dimapur Sadar, and Dimapur District Citizen’s Forum (DDCF) have appealed to all business establishments under Dimapur district to voluntarily down shutters and attend the rally from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
In a joint statement, presidents of DDGBA Hokuto Zhimomi; GBUDS W. Kholie Kapfo and DDCF Vikato Achumi also urged the Dimapur District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DDCCI) to mobilise the business community to participate in the platform, describing it as a “clarion call” for all stakeholders towards peace and a final Indo-Naga political solution.

Autos arranged for public rally: The organising committee of the Common Platform has informed that autos will be available at Super Market, near Town Hall, Dimapur, from 9 a.m. onwards, free of cost, for participants attending the meeting at Agri-Expo, Chümoukedima.
