Nagaland: Wokha Town Council chairperson Khozamo Lotha passes away

Wokha Town Council (WTC) chairperson Khozamo Lotha passed away on the evening of December 16, 2025, at Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), Chümoukedima, following a brief illness. He was 66.
Born on June 15, 1959, late Khozamo Lotha was elected from Ward No. 8 on the NDPP ticket and was serving as the chairperson of the Wokha Town Council. In his public life, he had earlier served as chairman of Tsumang-B, Wokha Town, and as chairman of Wokha Town Wokhae Ekhung, contributing actively to local administration and community development.
Family sources informed that the funeral service would be held at the Public Ground, Wokha, on December 17. He is survived by his wife, four sons, three daughters and seven grandchildren. As a mark of respect, the Wokha Town Council has directed all business establishments within Wokha town to remain closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 17.
