Nagaland: Workshop on ‘oral culture’

The department of History, Dimapur Government College in collaboration with department of History and Archaeology, Nagaland University, and sponsored by IQAC, DGC conducted a one-day workshop on ‘Orality and oral culture in historical reconstruction’ on February 9, 2026 at Dimapur Government College.
Resource persons were from the department of History and Archaeology, Nagaland University – Dr Aokumla Walling, asst. professor, who spoke on the topic ‘Orality in historical reconstruction: Theoretical issues and debates’ and Dr R Chumbeno Ngullie, asst. professor who deliberated on the topic ‘Oral sources in historical reconstruction: Research methodology’.
