A one-day training programme on “Driving Skills and Etiquette” for drivers of the Water Resources Department (WRD) was held on November 14 at the Conference Hall, Office of the Chief Engineer, WRD, Kohima.
Delivering the welcome address, Er. Sobu Angami, Additional Chief Engineer, highlighted the growing number of vehicles and the challenges posed by poor road conditions.
He encouraged the use of DigiLocker for digital documentation and urged drivers to equip themselves with skills to handle SOS and emergency situations. The training featured three technical sessions: Rhyuzamo Ezung, Motor Transport Officer, DEF Kohima, spoke on “Driving Lenience, Vehicle Maintenance, Traffic Rules & Road Safety”; Er. A. Roland Jami, Superintending Engineer, WRD Kohima, addressed “Driving Skills and Driving Etiquette” and H. Bushan Khaminungan, Registrar, WRD Kohima, spoke on “Roles and Responsibilities of Drivers”. The programme was chaired by Er. Wapangnaro Imchen, Executive Engineer, WRD.
