A wrestling coaching camp is currently underway in Tuensang, organized by the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) in collaboration with the Chang Wrestling Association (CWA). The camp, scheduled from November 10 to 13, 2025, focuses on Freestyle Wrestling, Greco-Roman Wrestling, and Traditional Naga Wrestling. Both men and women wrestlers from the Chang community are participating.
The Chang Wrestling Association, headed by EE Water Resources, Er. Chingmak, as president, functions under the aegis of the Chang Sports Association (CSA), the apex sports body. CWA is among the five newly formed wrestling units that have been granted provisional affiliation by the NWA. The camp is being conducted by co-opted Technical Secretary of NWA, Kikhwesül Thokhwe.
An inaugural programme was held at the Multipurpose Hall, Tuensang, attended by wrestlers and officials of NWA and CWA. Delivering the keynote address, property secretary of NWA, Rangsilang Ikierembe, encouraged participants to take up wrestling as a profession. He highlighted the scope and potential of the sport at the state, national and international levels, while emphasizing the progress made in Nagaland. He urged wrestlers to prepare diligently and participate in upcoming championships across different levels.
