A free medical camp was organized by Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) Dimapur on November 8 at Bamunpukhuri ‘B’ Village, Dimapur, to provide accessible healthcare services to the local community where over 91 beneficiaries availing free medical consultations, health check-ups, and medicines.
The camp was inaugurated by pastor of Bamunpukhuri Unity Baptist Church, Amos Tungoe who emphasized the importance of community-based healthcare initiatives and appreciated the efforts of the organizing team.
A team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and volunteers from YWCA Dimapur provided services including general health screening, blood pressure and sugar testing and basic diagnostic consultations.
Speaking on the occasion, president, YWCA Dimapur, Akokla Ozukum said, “Our goal is to extend quality healthcare to those who have limited access to medical facilities. We are encouraged by the turnout and hope to conduct similar camps in other areas soon.”
Free medicines were distributed to patients as per the doctors’ prescriptions, and awareness sessions on preventive health, hygiene, and nutrition were also conducted. The event concluded successfully, reflecting the commitment of YWCA Dimapur, towards promoting health and well-being among the people of Dimapur.
